Канал на юге штата Техас. Связывает внутренние районы штата, в том числе г. Хьюстон, с заливом Галвестон [Galveston Bay] (часть Мексиканского залива [Mexico, Gulf of]) и Береговым каналом [Intracoastal Waterway; Gulf Intracoastal Waterway], проходя через Баффало-Байю [Buffalo Bayou] и устье р. Сан-Хасинто [San Jacinto River]. Длина 80 км, глубина 10,4 м, ширина до 90 м. Постоянно расширялся с 40-х гг. XIX в.; современный канал открыт для судоходства 1914. Основные грузы: нефть и нефтепродукты, химикаты и др.
